As per a TechCrunch report, ” he stated this program would be a boon for families. Referring to his own experiences, he added that it might allow parents and their children interact more easily. He denied that Messenger Children is a social networking platform like others online. This messaging app takes in children between 6 to 12 years of age.
Recently, Messenger Kids received backlash from child growth advocates. They said that the social networking giant is currently using the product for its very good. They also included that introducing children to social websites, at this young age, could be detrimental to their mental wellbeing.
Messenger for Kids, reportedly, functions under the supervision of their parents. It helps in circumstances when parents aren’t present with their kids. It doesn’t populate the program with ads. The parents have an option to select to whom their children can talk to, using the program.
Among the debates that the child development experts say is it simplifies Children Privacy Protection Rule in the US where kids under the age of 13 years should be tracked on the sort of content a child is subjected to. Any online substance for kids under 13 years of age requires parental approval.
But, Marcus denied putting Messenger for Kids in the exact same category as social websites.
